La Torre Rosso Di Montalcino, 2020
This wine is made from 100% Sangiovese. The grapes are selected from a parcel of south facing vines that benefit from a fuller ripening, which contributes to the wine having less of a tannic presence than Brunello. A large amount of the juice is aged in large Slavonian Oak barrels, while a small percentage sees time in small used French Oak. This rosso is classically dry and smooth, exhibiting violet and tobacco notes, and we would love to pair it with Peposo, a Tuscan beef stew with black pepper, served with crusty bread.
