Pannonhalmi Apátsági Pincészet ‘Tricollis’ White Hungary, 2023
This wine is made of 45% Welschriesling, 30% Riesling, 15% Gewürztraminer, and 10% Pinot Blanc. It is extremely aromatic, reminiscent of white flowers and apple blossoms. It has a refreshingly mineral palate of grapefruit and melon. We would pair this with soft cheese based charcuterie, or chili lime marinated shrimp. Pannonhalmi Apátsági Pincészet directly translates in Hungarian to “The Abbey Winery in Pannonhalma”. Benedictine monks founded this winery over 1,000 years ago in 966 (!) setting the tone for winemaking in this region of Hungary.
