Sarnin-Berrux “Saignee” VDF, 2020
This wine is made of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Gamay. Bright, floral, earthy, and exploding with fruit, this wine would be great with a Harissa grilled chicken and arugula salad, OR, light the grill for some turkey and feta burgers. “Saignée” (“to bleed” in French) is literally made using the saignée method, which involves ‘bleeding off’ some of the juice used to make red wine. As such, the wine drinks much like a rosé, with the subtle earthiness of a Beaujolais or Red Burgundy.
